Because daily activities enhance an elderly adult’s quality of life and encourage social interaction, residents in our homes are encouraged to take part in a variety of joint planned activities such as music, pet therapy, exercise, cable television, community newspapers, magazines, puzzles, board and card games, or just sitting outdoors and enjoying each other’s company.
Activity Coordinator Vicki Couch engages our residents activities such as:
- exercise – sit and be fit Leader demos the movements
- beanbag or ball toss
- playing board games
- cards / cribbage
- coloring books – these have become very popular lately
- music therapy
- pet therapy – families can bring in pets for visits. Be sure to get prior approval.
- caregivers sometimes read aloud
